When Love Exists, but the body does not answer its call

Elements of Esoteric Tantric Massage for a Tantric Prelude to Awakening Vitality and Returning to the Body

Perhaps you love each other. There is tenderness, closeness, and the desire to be together. And yet, on certain evenings, when intimacy begins, the body seems to arrive later at the meeting.

The mind continues to work. The day is still unfolding somewhere within. Fatigue has accumulated in the body. The breath remains shallow. Desire needs time to awaken. The touch is pleasurable, and yet that current of vitality seems to be missing—the one that once transformed the simple closeness of the beloved into a shiver.

This is one of the realities of many contemporary couples: the two meet before their bodies have fully arrived in the present moment.

In Esoteric Tantric Massage, returning to the body represents one of the first stages of a conscious amorous experience. Energy needs roots. Expansion rests upon stability. Pleasure becomes more intense when attention enters into sensation.

And one of the gateways to this return is Mūlādhāra Chakra – the Root Chakra.

Why does Erotic Vitality Decline even when Love is Present

Erotic vitality is influenced by sleep, stress, health, hormonal balance, movement, nutrition, the quality of the relationship, attraction, safety, and emotional availability.

There is then one factor that we can influence precisely in the moment of meeting:

presence in our own body.

You can be beside the person you love and still be mentally at work. You can receive a caress and, simultaneously, analyze what is happening. You can desire closeness, while the body needs twenty minutes to arrive where the mental desire already was.

For this reason, tantric foreplay can begin by activating certain subtle energetic structures that stimulate the activation of the root chakra.

Gradually, through foreplay, the two lovers help each other inhabit their own bodies more fully, accessing and savoring the full richness of their physical experience.

Mūlādhāra Chakra – The Root of Vitality!

In the tantric subtle anatomy, Mūlādhāra represents the foundation of the energetic system. Its name combines mūla, “root,” with ādhāra, “support,” “foundation.”

At the base of your spine there is a subtle bioenergetic structure, which has the appearance of a lotus with four petals that connects you with the Earth element. For a fulfilling amorous experience, it is important that this energetic structure be harmoniously activated.

Some effects of the harmonious activation of the root chakra are:

  • a well-grounded body that can feel more nuances of pleasure.

  • A bodily sensitivity that favors relaxation and amplifies vitality.

  • Relaxation increases the availability for sensation.

  • Sensation nourishes the awakening of erotic vitality.

The First Petal – “I Am Here”

Attention descends from the stream of thoughts into the body.

I feel the weight of the body. I feel the skin. I feel the breath. I feel the touch of the beloved.

The Second Petal – “I Surrender into My Own Body”

The body receives the time it needs to open at its own pace. The breath deepens, the muscles relax, and attention becomes more stable.

The Third Petal – “I Allow Myself to Feel”

Sensation takes priority.

An apparently simple touch can become extraordinarily rich when the entire attention is absorbed in perceiving it.

The Fourth Petal – “The Force of Life Awakens Within Me”

The tantric tradition describes the region of Mūlādhāra as the seat of Kundalini’s potential.

In the amorous experience, this image can be contemplated as the awakening of the being’s reservoir of vitality and the availability of this energy for love, pleasure, and inner transformation.

An Esoteric Tantric Massage Technique for Awakening the Root Chakra!

This practice can be integrated at the beginning of the prelude, especially when the beloved is tired, highly mental, scattered, or feels that it is difficult to truly enter the body.

The technique uses three main regions:

  • Feng Fu (DU-16) – in the posterior region of the head, in the depression beneath the occipital protuberance;

  • Cheng Shan (UB-57) – bilaterally, on the posterior aspect of the calves;

  • the coccyx region.

These points are integrated into a subtle geometry formed by two triangles with their apex pointing upward.

The tools of the practice are extremely simple:

the kiss, warm breath, thumb pressure, circular movements, and visualization.

1. Feng Fu – The Beginning of the Journey Back to the Body

The person receiving the massage is lying comfortably on their abdomen.

The first few minutes are devoted to calming down.

The person giving the massage approaches the posterior region of the head and locates Feng Fu, in the depression beneath the occipital protuberance.

The point is stimulated through a slow and conscious kiss.

This is followed by a warm exhalation onto the skin.

Then another kiss.

And a pause.

The person receiving the massage remains with their eyes closed and focuses their attention precisely on the place where they felt the touch.

In Esoteric Tantric Massage, this alternation between stimulation and rest is very valuable. The pause allows attention to enter into the sensation.

2. Cheng Shan – Bringing Attention Down to the Legs

The partner then moves down toward the calves.

The two Cheng Shan points are located simultaneously, one on each calf.

Both thumbs are placed on the points at the same time.

We begin with firm yet comfortable pressure.

This is followed by slow and simultaneous circular movements of both thumbs, maintaining the same rhythm and similar pressure on both sides.

The person receiving the massage focuses on perceiving both points simultaneously.

Breathing can accompany the stimulation:

  • Inhale – I feel.
  • Exhale – I relax.
  • Inhale – I descend into the body.
  • Exhale – I surrender to the weight of the body.

For someone who spends much of the day engaged in mental activity, this bringing of attention down toward the legs can produce a remarkable shift in bodily perception.

3. The First Fire Triangle – Activating the Root

We keep the two Cheng Shan points as the base of the geometry.

Both thumbs continue to stimulate the points on the calves simultaneously through slow pressure and circular movements.

At the same time, the outer region of the coccyx is stimulated through a gentle kiss and warm breath, in accordance with the recipient’s boundaries and comfort.

At this moment, three regions are perceived simultaneously:

Right Cheng Shan + Left Cheng Shan + coccyx.

The person receiving the massage mentally connects them.

A triangle with its apex pointing upward thus appears.

We can visualize it as a ruby-red or red-golden fire triangle.

The kiss marks the apex.

The two thumbs maintain the base.

The breath energizes the perception of the entire geometry.

During the stimulation, the person may evoke inwardly:

“I am here.”

After a few breaths:

“I feel my body.”

Then:

“The force of life awakens within me.”

Attention is maintained for a few minutes on the entire triangle.

4. The Second Triangle – Vitality Begins to Rise

The construction of the second triangle follows.

The two Cheng Shan points remain the base.

The thumbs continue to stimulate them simultaneously through pressure and slow circular movements.

At the same time, the partner returns to Feng Fu, the point with which the entire practice began, and stimulates it through a slow kiss and warm breath.

Now the following are consciously perceived simultaneously:

Right Cheng Shan + Left Cheng Shan + Feng Fu.

The person visualizes two lines of energy rising from the calves up to Feng Fu.

The second triangle appears, much more expansive.

Again:

  • the thumbs maintain the base;
  • the kiss marks the apex;
  • the breath supports the state;
  • visualization connects the points.

At this stage, the entire body may begin to be perceived as a single structure.

5. From Mūlādhāra Toward the Central Axis!

After the two triangles have been clearly constructed in the inner representation, the person directs their attention toward the posterior region of the head.

Then they begin to perceive a current that starts from the root region and rises along the central axis. In yogic subtle anatomy, this axis is associated with Suṣumṇā Nāḍī.

Attention may rise slowly:

root → pelvis → abdomen → heart → throat → head.

With each inhalation, the energy is perceived more clearly.

With each exhalation, the body relaxes even more.

In this way, the vitality awakened in the root region begins to be symbolically distributed throughout the entire being.

What Can Change Between Two People When the Body Becomes Present!

One of the secrets of fulfilling intimacy is the time given to the transformation of the inner state.

Sometimes the body needs twenty or thirty minutes to arrive where the mind would like to be immediately.

And these minutes can become the most refined part of the encounter.

The person giving the massage begins to observe.

  • How does the beloved breathe?

  • Where do they hold tension?

  • At what moment does the body begin to warm?

  • Where does the pulsation appear?

  • What pressure produces relaxation?

  • How much time does the body need between two stimulations?

In this way, one of the great qualities of a practitioner of Esoteric Tantric Massage develops:the ability to read the body of the beloved and adapt the touch to their responses.

When the Four Petals Begin to Open

At the end of the technique, the four petals of Mūlādhāra can be integrated into a short contemplation.

I AM HERE.

I feel my entire body.

I AM STABLE IN MY BODY.

I allow myself to be supported.

I ALLOW MYSELF TO FEEL.

I receive each touch without anticipating what comes next.

THE FORCE OF LIFE AWAKENS WITHIN ME.

I feel warmth, pulsation, and vitality spreading throughout the body.

From this perspective, the activation of the four petals of the Root Chakra becomes a journey from dispersion toward presence, from inertia toward sensitivity, from fatigue toward vitality and amorous availability.

From the Root Toward the Heart

After awakening the root, the massage can naturally continue toward the back, shoulders, and heart region.

Here begins a very beautiful stage of the tantric prelude:

Mūlādhāra → vitality → the ascent of energy → Anāhata → love.

And the question with which the prelude can sometimes begin is surprisingly simple:

“How truly present are we, in this moment, in our bodies?”

  • The root provides stability.
  • Stability favors surrender.
  • Surrender refines sensitivity.
  • Sensitivity awakens vitality.
  • Vitality can rise toward the heart.

And love thus comes to be felt with the whole body.

If you want to discover all of this in practice, in a safe space and with expert guidance, I invite you to our Intensive course of Esoteric Massage, possibly the most advanced and profound course of this kind. Starting in November!
